In approximately 3 days, we will hit block 100,000 on the 2ACoin network.
This is a significant milestone for 2ACoin. Not only will it mark our first 100K blocks processed on the network, but we have a soft fork slated for Block 100,000 too.
The soft fork at block 100,000 will implement static MIXIN value equal to 3. Currently, the mixin values on the network can range from a low value of 0 to a high of 7. While, it may be a good idea to allow variable mixin values we have determined that the added processing time does not provide an equivalent return on value.
In addition, allowing values in the 0, 1, and 2 ranges do not provide adequate security ensuring that transactions on the network are mixed with enough other transactions to allow for solid security and privacy.
Therefore, we are setting a static MIXIN=3 with the softfork that will be implemented in Block 100,000.
The current version of the 2ACoin V1.1.1 software has this soft fork built-in. Therefore, there is nothing that needs to be done by anyone on the network that is running this version of the software. However, if you are running an outdated version of the software then it is time to upgrade now.
Attention Pool Operators
With the implementation of a static MIXIN = 3; if your pool is not set accordingly, payments could be delayed to your users.
You must update your pool's configuration and set the MIXIN value to 3 before this soft fork.
Thanks
The 2ACoin Team
